iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later. Macs with Apple silicon can download it from the Mac App Store too. There it runs the iPad version, since there isn’t a dedicated Mac app yet. No. On its own, the app keeps your kitchen on your device and syncs it across your Apple devices through your own iCloud account. There is no Sous Chef account and no Sous Chef-run cloud; your data stays on your devices and in your iCloud.
In the app’s Settings, tap Connect your Sous Chef server, then enter your server’s address and sign in with your Sous Chef account. Home addresses such as a local IP, a .local name, or a Tailscale address work. The app keeps a working copy on your device, so you can keep cooking and shopping offline, and it syncs your pantry, recipes, shopping list, and meal plan whenever it can reach your server.
